Sealing leaks and sewing cracks in concrete are jobs we always try to reserve for times when repairs to terraces and balconies are not possible. In this case, we are working on the garage of one of Warsaw's office buildings where, after several years of structural settlement, cracks have appeared through which water penetrates into the building. In such cases, pressure injection is the most efficient technology.
The problem of damp walls can occur in old buildings, but also in new ones. In the case of old buildings, this situation may simply be due to a loss of effectiveness of the waterproofing used, while in new buildings it may be due to design errors or savings in the execution phase. External factors such as heavy rainfall or high groundwater levels that permanently affect the structure can also cause the waterproofing layer to deteriorate more quickly than periodic moisture exposure. It is not always possible to restore or make a new waterproofing coating. Therefore, in such situations, an effective method of drying walls and blocking the destructive effect of water is the use of pressure injection, which will create an effective layer cutting off the pull of moisture from the ground, but also protecting against water penetrating through the wall. Injection involves drilling into the wall and injecting, under high pressure, suitably selected chemical preparations that have the right insulation and water-binding properties. There are many advantages to this solution, but the most important is that it can be performed on thick walls regardless of their moisture level. This method of repair is the least invasive and definitely limits the scope of work.
