How should the WB MEMBRANE be properly laid out?
Proper preparation of the substrate is fundamental. We must not allow the substrate to be
moisture was present, as evaporation will lead to a
to the formation of blisters on the surface of the WB Membrane.
This is what the system ground is for WB PRIMERwhich reinforces the substrate, reduces its absorbency and forms a slightly tacky layer on the surface that optimises the athesion process with subsequent insulation layers. On such a prepared substrate we can start the application of WB MEMBRANE. For the installation of WB MEMBRANE we need two different products: WB DUO FLEX as an adhesive for WB MEMBRANE and at the same time as a waterproofing layer, and WB 2K as the final layer to be applied after the surface has been covered with m1TP2 Body WB MEMBRANE and after fitting the tapes WB TAPE PRO in all corners. Both insulations are characterised by ease of application and good adhesion to the substrate. They form flexible coatings that are resistant to freezing and thawing cycles. They remain flexible even at very low temperatures.
WB MEMBRANE reinforces the substrate and improves its tightness in areas of very high water pressure. It has a hydrostatic pressure loading capacity of 0.5 MPa, a temperature resistance of - 30 °C to + 90 °C and a high tensile strength of up to 13 MPa. It withstands a water column pressure of 50 metres per square cm. Application WB MEMBRANE in both terrace and balcony systems guarantees airtightness for many years, even under extreme weather conditions. Traditional finishing materials such as tiles on glue, as well as ventilated systems such as slabs on feet and decking boards can be laid on top of such a systemically executed insulation.

The laying of WB MEMBRANE should begin with the preparation of the product WB DUO FLEXby combining the wet component with the reaction powder. Two people are required to lay the membrane. One person applies WB DUO FLEX to the terrace surface, and the other unrolls the WB MEMBRANE roll pressing it to the substrate with a roller or trowel removing excess glue from underneath. When unrolling the next WB MEMBRANE roll remember to apply 10 cm overlap. When we have the whole terrace covered with WB MEMBRANE we have to wait until the glue under the membrane is well set. This takes about one to two days depending on the temperature and humidity.

The next step is to tape in all corners WB TAPE PRO. This product is easy to install, as it is coated with butyl rubber, so there is no need for additional adhesive mass. Once all corners have been reinforced with tape, the final finishing of the terrace surface can be carried out with the sealing compound. WB 2K. To do this, mix the two components A and B in the proportions described in the product sheet and then, using a trowel, apply the mixture to the entire surface of the WB MEMBRANE and to the corners from the strips of WB TAPE PRO.
